Christian Signers Of ‘A Common Word Between Us and Them’

This past week Robert H Schuller, founding pastor of the Crystal Cathedral, was on the same platform as Shiek Al-Habib Ali Al-Jifri before Yale University promoting A Common Word Between Us and Them, which is a document promoting the similarities between Islam and Christianity. At the bottom of this post is a link to that website. The only thing that Islam has in common with Christianity is an olive branch of their own making known as the Trojan Horse.

Have you ever heard of the Trojan Horse? That is what naive pastors such as Bill Hybels, Robert H Schuller, Brian McLaren, and, yes, even Purpose Driven Rick Warren have signed onto the document known as “A Common Word Between Us and Them” with over 360 Islamic signatures being added to a like number of Christian pastors. How about these “common” words from the Koran?

Surah 5:36: “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Apostle, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land.”

Surah 9:5: “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans (infidels) wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity (following the Five Pillars of Islam), then open the way for them.”

Surah 8:60-61: “Against the infidels make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah… Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you. But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah.”

I think I’m going to be sick? The Trojan Horse of Islam is not a “common” thing. Yassir Arafat, when alive, was said to have worked for peace even earning the Nobel Peace Prize, though a known terrorist. His concept of peace was a two year peace treaty as an earlier Muslim had forged years before. Those that follow the Koran religiously believe what it says and there is no common words between Islam and Christianity. “WHAT COMMUNION HAS LIGHT WITH DARKNESS?” 2 Cor. 6:14.

A Common Word is another term for compromise. “HOW LONG WILL YOU FALTER BETWEEN TWO OPINIONS? IF THE LORD IS GOD FOLLOW HIM, BUT IF BAAL, FOLLOW HIM” 2 Ki.18:21. I know Warren apologist, Richard Abanes, will be taken aback at his idol signing this document but I will be more than amazed as to how he justifies this latest departure from the faith?

I personally pray for Muslims to convert to Christianity but can Muslims say the same? If Muslims convert to Christianity they are marked for death. If Christians witness in Muslim countries “they” are marked for death. Yet, Muslims in the United States are often found passing out their literature on street corners without objection. Does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?

Islam believes in three things in regard to “A Common Word”. Accept Islam, pay a poll tax (heavy taxation), or die. It would seem that in reality the only common word between us and them is “cemetary”.
